2026 Pennsylvania Lefties Golf Tournament

2026 Pennsylvania Results
Pennsylvania has not had a state left-handed tournament for many years - potentially for as long as 80 years ago. This "inaugural" Pennsylvania championship was a success in many ways.
The event attracted many new players that previously had no awareness of the NALG and its various state tournaments. They now have a better idea of who we are and how we want everyone to enjoy our events. The event was the first held anywhere in the northeastern part of the country for many years. In a post-competition presentation, Miner noted that the 2028 NALG national championship will be held in the northeast region and Green Pond would make a great location.
Many thanks to Green Pond Country Club's golf professional John Kulhamer for all his efforts in making this tournament a success. Thanks also goes to NALG Chair Sid Miner for his help in contributions in making this tournament happen. (Check this BLOG POST for how this tournament came to be!)
The winner of the Championship Division was Indiana's Jon Kelley. It was his fourth different state lefty title this year. Kelley grew up playing Green Pond many (many!!) years ago. In fact he had not played there for 50 years. North Carolina's Wayne Hamilton shot a fine round of 73 in the first round to open up a four-stroke lead. Hamilton continued to lead until three OBs led to an 11 on hole # 11. That one hole cost him the title. Nick Hatch from Ephrata, Pa made a great run and finished a single stroke behind Kelley and one ahead of Hamilton.
The Senior Division (Age 60+) winner was Michael Casella who hails from Bethlehem, the home of Green Pond. Casella fired rounds of 75 and 78 to eclipse NALG chair Miner by 13 strokes.
The Master Division (age 70+) was hotly contested with John Mace narrowly edging Thomas Rowe by a score of 153 to 154.
The Women's Division was won by Kathy Conrad with a total of 203 to win by nine strokes over Tina Goshert.
