Summary
Indiana's Jon Kelley captured the 2025 Michigan Association of Left-Handed Golfers at the Links of Gateway. He started the round with a five stroke lead over Rudy Rosas and a six stroke lead over Karl Petrich. The first round was reduced to a 15-hole event as that is how many holes each player managed to finished before a drenching rainstorm hit.
After three consecutive three-putts on holes 6-8, Kelley's lead was down to one stroke over Rosas. After two more bogeys on holes 10 and 11 Rosas had grabbed the lead with Kelley and Petrich one behind. Rosas hit his second shot into the penalty area left on hole 12 and his double-bogey put Petrich and Kelley back in the lead. Petrich hit his second shot into the penalty area right on hole 15 and the resultant double-bogey gave Kelley the sole lead which he would maintain.
Cindy Hill won the Women's Division. Francis McGinnis won the Senior Division. Andy Willis played great and won the Masters Division. Stanley Polkowski won the Masters 2nd flight. Host Bob Wolf took the Grand Master Division title with his fine play.
Everyone had a great time and the food was excellent again this year.
